Have you ever heard the phrase “just show up?” and/or “consistency is key?” If you have, thank the person who you heard it from! These phrases can and should be carried with you throughout your life.

For the sake of simplicity, we will use an example of showing up to practice. The logic behind each of these phrases is rather straightforward: No matter how bad or good your day has been, what kind of mood you’re in, what you have to do tomorrow, ect., if you show up to train, you are still moving forward and learning. Even if that practice turns out to be a “bad” one, you still learned from it (even if you don’t realize you did). If you avoid showing up to practice, you’re only keeping yourself from progressing. The second phrase definitely complements the first. Consistency leads to habits and habits form actions that we do everyday. Positive actions lead to success. In this case, the positive action would be going to practice even if you don’t feel like it.

Remember to keep yourself thinking & acting positively!
