Most people don’t even know that the sport of Olympic Trampoline even exists…and that means they certainly don’t know the benefits (other than it being FUN!) it can have for you physically and mentally! Here are a few of the numerous ways that trampolining can help you!
It is a Low Impact Sport
This means that it is great for all ages! It is even recommended for preventing certain diseases such as osteoporosis and heart disease.
Increases Cardio
- Trampolining is an intense aerobic workout, which means that it increases the rate at which your heart pumps blood and oxygen around your body. As a result, the muscles within the cardiovascular system strengthen which increases oxygen levels throughout your body.
Tones your muscles
- The continuous and rhythmic bouncing causes the burning of calories and fat at a rapid rate, leading to the toning of your muscles. Just the act of jumping in itself works the ENTIRE body, especially the legs, arms, core, thighs, and hips. Throw in learning different skills and the process doubles or triples.
Increases Coordination
- Trampoline requires the use of every single muscle and bone in your body. The muscles must work together to maintain muscle control and balance at all times.
Improves Aerial Awareness
- Trampolinists are trained to flip and twist through the air at a very high height. In order to do this safely, their aerial awareness must be working at its best to avoid injury in case something does not go as planned. Many other athletes doing other sports use the trampoline to cross train. These sports include gymnastics, diving, skiing, and snowboarding, among others.
As we stated, these are just a few of the different ways that trampoline can improve overall health, but there are so many more benefits that we can’t list them all! If you’d like to find out more, send us a message or comment below!
